Running 5 Minutes a Day Can Reduce Your Risk of Cardiovascular Disease

A large prospective, observational cohort study involving more than 55,000 individuals found that running even 5-10min/day at slow speeds (less than 10km/h) is associated with markedly reduced all-cause mortality and death from cardiovascular disease.

People who run persistently experience the most benefit, with 50% reduction in death from cardiovascular causes and 29% reduced risk of death overall. Non-runners also had 3 years' lower life expectancy.
